Averesch, Welch Earn Weekly GLIAC Honors

Seniors Kendra Averesch and Justin Welch were named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Field Athletes of the Week on March 31.

Averesch turned in a first place finish in the shot put at the Raleigh Relays on March 27 with a NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 15.33 meters. She also added an 11th place finish in the discus invitational with a mark of 39.65 meters.

Welch claimed a second place finish in the hammer throw at the Raleigh Relays with a NCAA automatic qualifying heave of 68.79 meters. He also recorded a fifth place finish in the discus invitational with a NCAA provisional qualifying toss of 49.72 meters.
