Three Athletes Compete in Gainesville, FLA

Gainesville, FLA – The University of Findlay track and field team sent three throwers to the Florida Relays on Friday, April 3, to compete against some of the nation's best field athletes.

Justin Welch came away with the best finish for the Oilers as he took second place in the hammer throw. His throw of 226'06" was just three feet behind the leader, a thrower from the University of Georgia.

Taylor Miller also made the trip and competed in the discus throw. His throw of 156'04" was good enough for 17th place.

Also earning a 17th place finish was Kendra Averesch. She competed in the hammer throw and had a toss of 161'11".

The rest of the team, which was originally scheduled to compete at Bellermine, will now compete at the Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio, tomorrow, April 4.
