Day 2 of Penn Relays
Philadelphia, PA – The University of Findlay men's and women's track and field team traveled to Pennsylvania, taking part in the Penn Relays on the second of three days of competition. The Penn Relays are the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States and has been running since 1895. More than 15,000 athletes from various high schools and colleges across the country gather to compete in more than 300 events.
Men
In the shot put competition, Taylor Miller took home fifth place as he earned a provisional with a toss of 58'10.75".
The Oilers received a tenth place finish from Justin Welch who competed in the discus throw. He had a provisional qualifying throw that measured 168'09". Finishing right behind Welch, and also earning a provisional, was Brian Jennings. His throw of 166'00" was good enough for 11th place.
Alexander Zolotoglavyy also earned a provisional as he took sixth place in the long jump championship with a distance of 23'09.50". In the other long jump competition, Michael Bruce finished in eighth place with a jump that measured 23'08.00", just shy of the provisional mark.
The meet will conclude with the third and final day of competition taking place tomorrow, April 25.
