Findlay Hosts Day One of Oiler Opener

The University of Findlay indoor track and field teams opened up their season on Friday, Dec. 4 at home in the Malcolm Athletic Center in the Oiler Opener.

Men:

The only event of the evening involving the men's team was the weight throw.  Junior Mitch Adkins placed sixth with a 52'10" throw and senior Parker Schroeder finished eighth with a 50'08.75"throw.

Women:

In the women's weight throw, junior Erica King met the NCAA provisional and finished first with a throw of 75'08.25."  The Oilers also received strong performances in the weight throw from senior Liz Streacker (5th, 53'00.75") and junior Alex DeVincentis (6th, 52'05.50").

In the pentathlon, senior Lydia Guagenti met the NCAA provisional with a first place finish of 3,422 points.  In the high jump portion of the event, Guagenti took first place and met the NCAA provisional as she soared to a height of 5'05.75."

The Oiler Opener continues tomorrow Dec. 5 with the multi events scheduled to begin at 9am, the field events scheduled to begin at 11:30am, and the running events scheduled to start at 1:20pm.
