The University of Findlay track and field teams hosted day two of the Oiler Opener in the Malcolm Athletic Center on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Women:

Sophomore Alex DeVincentis did well on her second day of competition as she earned an NCAA provisional in the shot put with a toss of 46'09.25". That was good enough for first place.

Senior Lydia Guagenti also earned an NCAA provisional in the high jump after she collected first place while soaring to 5'06.50."

Freshman Madison Stechshulte also recorded a first place finish for the Oilers with a time of 26.18 in the 200 meter dash and she also earned second place in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.95.

Junior Laura Hernandez completed the 400 meter dash in 59.20 to earn third place.  Senior Maud Sanmiquel (2nd, 1:40.36) and junior Claire Crum (3rd, 1:50.70) competed well in the 600 meter run.

In the 60 meter hurdles, sophomore Milani Glass finished 3rd with a time of 9.06.  Glass also placed second in the long jump with a leap of 17'05.50."

The 4x400 meter relay, consisting of Sanmiquel, Guagenti, Glass, and Hernandez finished first place with a mark of 4:01.18.

Men:

Sophomore Trey Everett met the NCAA provisional in the high jump and collected first place with a leap of 6'09.75."

Sophomore Michael Bruce also met an NCAA provisional in the long jump after he earned first place with a jump of 23'06."  Junior Alexander Zolotoglavyy (2nd, 23'00"), Everett (3rd, 22'00.75") and freshman Jordan Davis (4th, 21'02.50") also had strong performances in the long jump.

Bruce met another NCAA provisional in the triple jump after finishing first with a jump of 47'09.75."  Zolotoglavyy placed third at 45'08.50" and Davis earned sixth at 38'11.75."

In the 60 meter dash, Bruce finished 3rd with a time of 7.23, with Davis (4th, 7.330) and freshman George Bauer (6th, 7.338) close behind.

Junior Derek Collins also earned a first place finish for the Oilers while competing in the 300 meter dash with a time of 36.19.

Collins teamed up with junior Maliik Briggs, Bauer, and sophomore Sergi Torres in the 4x400 meter relay that earned first place with a time of 3:27.20.

In the 400 meter dash, Briggs finished at 49.90 to earn second place and in the 200 meter dash he finished fourth with a time of 23.23.

Senior Derek Spindler cleared 14'05.25" to earn second place in the pole vault.

In the shot put, freshman Austin Combs finished fourth with a throw of 50'05.50" and senior Parker Schroeder finished sixth with a throw of 49'11.25."

The Oilers track and field teams return to action Saturday, Jan 9 in Hillsdale Mich. At the Hillsdale Winter Open.
