Oilers Wrap-Up Armory Invitational

The University of Findlay men and women's track and field team continued to perform well on day two of the Armory Invitational in New York, N.Y. on Saturday, Feb. 6th.

Women

Senior Lydia Guagenti met the NCAA provisional and placed 3rd in the high jump after a leap of 5'08.50".

In the women's weight throw, junior Erica King met the NCAA provisional and claimed 6th after a 58'06.50" toss, junior Liz Streacker also met the NCAA provisional and finished 12th with a 56'02.50" heave, junior Alex DeVincentis earned 18th with a throw of 53'05.50" and freshman Holly Averesch came in 25th after throwing 47'05.25".

Senior Erica Bettac finished 41st in the mile run after clocking in at the 5:27.93 mark.

In the triple jump, sophomore Milani Glass earned 27th after jumping 35'08.00".

Freshman Madison Stechshulte was 39th in the prelims for the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.66.

In the 800 meter run, senior Samantha Grippe met the NCAA provisional and came in 13th after finishing at the 2:13.12 mark.

The 4x400 meter relay consisting of senior Maud Sanmiquel, Stechshulte, Grippe, and sophomore Laura Hernandez met the NCAA provisional and finished 10th with a time of 3:50.56

Men

The 4x400 meter relay featuring freshman George Effah, junior Maliik Briggs, junior Derek Collins, and junior Sergi Torres met the NCAA provisional and claimed 1st place after clocking in at 3:15.09.

Senior Michael Bruce met the NCAA provisional in the triple jump and received 8th after leaping 49'00.25" and junior Alexander Zolotoglavyy finished 23rd with a jump of 44'02.50".

In the high jump, sophomore Trey Everett met the NCAA provisional after soaring 6'09.75" to claim 3rd.

Sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt earned 14th in the mile run after finishing with a time of 4:19.43.

In the weight throw, junior Ben Hahler met the NCAA provisional and finished 7th with a toss of 57'07.50", freshman Austin Combs claimed 11th with a 52'08.75" heave, and junior Mitch Adkins earned 13th after a throw of 51'11.25".

 

The Oilers return back in action on Friday, Feb. 12th as they host the Findlay Open and the 8th Annual Elite Throws Competition.
