Oilers Complete Joe Banks Invitational
The University of Findlay men and women's track and field team also had athletes compete at Ohio Northern University in the Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 6th.
Women
In the 800 meter run, senior McKenzie Mahlmeister finished 14th with a time of 2:40.78.
Freshman Hannah Hahler claimed 7th in the weight throw after a toss of 42'11.75" and freshman Sabrina Bailey earned 10th after a heave of 41'01.00".
In the shot put, Bailey finished 2nd after a 40'07.75" toss, sophomore Dawn Freeland claimed 6th after a 37'11.50" heave, and freshman Rebecca Tracey earned 17th with a distance of 32'02.00".
In the pole vault, junior Torie Allgire received 8th place after clearing 10'03.50".
Men
Senior Derek Spindler met the NCAA provisional and won the pole vault after clearing 15'05.75 and sophomore Michael Dolinar was 15th after vaulting 12'00.50".
In the prelims of the 60 meter dash, Freshman Jaye Williams ran a 7.18 to qualify for the finals where he finished 4th with a time of 7.16.
Williams also participated in the 200 meter dash and received 14th after finishing at the 23.52 mark and sophomore Sam Testen finished 36th after crossing the finish line at the 24.35 mark.
Freshman Troy Schultz finished 11th in the 800 meter run after clocking in at the 2:02.98 mark.
In the triple jump, freshman Jordan Davis earned 4th after leaping 40'11.75" and freshman Khalil Capers received 11th after a 38'05.50" jump.
Freshman Mitch Knotts placed 9th in the long jump after a 19'02.50 leap, Davis finished 11th after a jump of 18'11.25", and Capers was 16th with a distance of 17'11.50".
Sophomore Garrett Gardner finished 5th in the weight throw after a toss of 50'09.25" and freshman Matthew Baker received 31st with a throw of 35'01.25".
In the shot put, Baker was 24th with a toss of 35'10.75" and freshman Jordon Brown was 27th with a distance of 35'01.25".
The Oilers are back in action on Friday, Feb. 12th as they host the Findlay Open and the 8th Annual Elite Throws Competition.
