Join Us for a Special Presentation at Track on Friday

Join us for the annual Findlay Open/Elite Throws on Feb. 12 in the Malcolm Athletic Center, the arena inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex, for a great night of track competition and a special presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.

John Guagenti, a UF graduate, former track All-American and wood carving artist for On Track Carvings, has graciously donated a custom-built, 6'8" wood sculpture based on his experiences and memories at The University of Findlay. As a way of showing appreciation towards head coach Marc Arce and associate head coach Lisa Klingshirn, John has been working diligently and enthusiastically to create this piece, which will be unveiled on Friday, Feb 12 at 5:30 p.m. inside the Koehler Fitness and Recreation Complex.

John holds Malcolm Athletic Center records in the 300-meter run (34.25) and the 400-meter run (48.11). He is also the school record holder in the 400 for both the indoor (47.28) and outdoor seasons (46.34). He was voted the 2012 NCAA Division II Midwest Region Athlete of the Year and was twice named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Athlete of the Year for both the indoor and outdoor seasons in 2012. A nine-time NCAA Division II All-American, John also won seven GLIAC titles during his career from 2009-12.

After graduating, John began his business of wood carving and has enjoyed great success. For more information on his business, please click the links below:
