Oilers Travel to Ohio State for Buckeye Tune-Up

The University of Findlay men and women track and field teams traveled to The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, Feb. 19th for the Buckeye Tune-Up.

Women

In the 60 meter hurdles prelims, senior Maud Sanmiquel (8.81) finished 10th and met the NCAA provisional and sophomore teammate Milani Glass (8.84) finished 11th and also met the NCAA provisional mark, but both failed to reach the finals.

In the pole vault, junior Torie Allgire who placed 8th after a vault of 3.37m.

Senior Lydia Guagenti finished 3rd in the long jump after a distance of 5.42m and sophomore Glass earned 5th with a jump of 5.21m.

The 4x400 meter relay finished 2nd and met the NCAA provisional mark with a time of 3:50.53.

In the weight throw, junior Erica King claimed 3rd and met the NCAA provisional mark with a toss of 18.01m, sophomore Alex DeVincentis also provo'd and earned 6th after a heave of 17.50m, and junior Liz Streacker provo'd as well and finished 9th with a throw of 16.45m.

DeVincentis also provo'd in the shot put and finished 5th with a distance of 15.24m and freshman Holly Averesch met the NCAA provisional mark as well with a 10th place finish and a 13.53m toss.

Men

The long jump featured a pair of Oilers at the top of the standings.  Sophomore Michael Bruce earned 1st and met the NCAA provisional with a leap of 7.25m and junior Alexander Zolotoglavyy received 2nd and also provo'd with a distance of 7.20m.

Bruce also finished 1st and met the NCAA provisional mark in the triple jump after covering a distance of 14.50m.

The 4x400 meter relay earned 1st place and met the NCAA provisional mark with a time of 3:17.03.

Sophomore Trey Everett claimed 1st and met the NCAA provisional mark in the high jump after soaring to a height of 2.10m.

In the pole vault, senior Derek Spindler met the NCAA provisional mark and finished in 6th place after clearing a height of 4.77m.

Sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt claimed 10th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 8:38.55.

In the shot put, junior Ben Hahler took home 4th and met the NCAA provisional after a toss of 17.25m and senior Parker Schroeder finished 10th with a throw of 15.20m.

Three University of Findlay athletes met the NCAA provisional mark in the weight throw.  Freshman Austin Combs earned 6th place with a distance of 18.00m, junior Mitch Adkins claimed 7th with a 17.35m toss, and Hahler received 8th with a heave of 17.28m.

The Oilers return to the track on Saturday, Feb. 20th to Kent State University for the Kent State Tune-Up.
