Oilers Women Ranked 18 in National Poll

Findlay, OH – The University of Findlay women's track team finds itself in the top 25 in the fifth week of national rankings in the U.S. Track and Field Coaches Association poll.

The Oilers women, who sent four athletes to the national championship meet last indoor season, fell six spots to #18 after being ranked #12 last week. They are one of four teams from the GLIAC in the top 25, the most of any conference in the country.

Senior Lydia Guagenti's best performance this year came in the high jump at the Findlay Classic where she leaped 5'8.5", the second best jump in DII this season. She is also ranked in the pentathlon where her 3,595 point performance from the Findlay Classic is the 14th best in the country this year.

Sophomore Alex DeVincentis is currently sixth in the country with her shot put performance from the Ohio State University Invitational where she had a toss of 50'0.00".

Senior Samantha Grippe is ranked 11th in the 800 meter run following her performance at the Grand Valley State Big Meet Invitational on Feb. 12. Her time of 2:10.35 is an indoor personal record and is an NCAA provisional qualifying time.

The Oilers are now in postseason action as they head to Tiffin on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 27-28 for the GLIAC Championship Meet.
