Findlay Completes Wake Forest Open

The University of Findlay men and women track and field teams were in Winston-Salem, N.C. on Saturday, March 19th as they competed in day two of the Wake Forest Open.

Women

The discus throw featured five Oilers competing.  Sophomore Alex DeVincentis took home 1st place and met the NCAA provisional mark (47.49m), junior Liz Streacker earned 11th (40.42m), freshman Holly Averesch claimed 13th (39.68m), freshman Sabrina Bailey finished 30th (34.73m) and freshman Megan Lyons was 38th (27.97m).

In the 800 meter run, senior Erica Bettac finished 43rd (2:27.19), senior McKenzie Mahlmeister claimed 78th (2:38.65) and sophomore Claire Crum ended up 84th (2:42.55).

Freshman Torrie Purdy competed in the 3000 meter run and claimed 31st with a time of 11:29.65.

In the pole vault, junior Torie Allgire finished 13th with a height of 2.57m.

Men

In the discus throw, junior Ben Hahler (46.22m) earned 6th, junior Mitch Adkins (43.25m) claimed 12th, senior Parker Schroeder (41.73m) collected 14th and sophomore Garrett Gardner (39.82m) finished 21st.

In the 800 meter run, freshman Troy Schultz finished in 25th place after crossing the finish line at the 1:58.87 mark.

A trio of freshman competed in the 200 meter run.  Jaye Williams (22.90) earned 20th, George Bauer (23.09) claimed 24th and Jordan Davis (23.64) finished 29th.

Davis also competed in the long jump and finished 30th with a distance of 4.01m.

In the 3000 meter run, sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt positioned himself to earn 10th with a time of 8:56.02 and freshman Michael Taylor crossed the finish line at the 9:23.01 mark to claim 26th.
