Findlay Completes Heidelberg Easter Invitational

The University of Findlay men and women track and field team sent athletes to compete in the Ted Hieronymus Easter Invitational at Heidelberg University on Thursday, March 24th.

Men

Freshman George Bauer earned 1st place in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.01.  He also participated in the 400 meter dash, where he came in 2nd with a time of 50.12.

In the pole vault, freshman Michael Dolinar finished in 2nd, after vaulting to a height of 3.65m.

In the 5000 meter run, freshman Jonathan Allen collected 3rd place with a time of 15:50.51 and fellow freshman Ty Gleason grabbed 9th at the 16:33.81 mark.

Freshman Jordan Davis earned 2nd in the triple jump after covering a distance of 11.68m.  Davis also competed in the long jump where he finished 7th after a leap of 6.07m.

In the 800 meter run, freshman Troy Schultz claimed 6th after he crossed the finish line at the 2:01.93 mark.

In the 1500 meter run, junior Aaron Cingle finished 9th with a time of 4:28.81.

Men's Throws

Senior Parker Schroeder earned 1st in the shot put after a 15.08m heave.  Freshman teammate, Jordan Brown, also competed and finished 9th with a 10.97m toss.

Schroeder also placed 1st in the discus throw with a distance of 47.28m.  Sophomore Garrett Gardner grabbed 2nd with a toss of 38.42m, Brown finished 5th at 31.32m and freshman Matthew Baker grabbed 6th with a throw of 30.62m.

In the hammer throw, Gardner collected 4th (44.02m) and Baker finished 12th (29.48m).

Women

In the pole vault, junior Torie Allgire earned 2nd after clearing a height of 2.65m.

Sophomore Claire Crum (2:39.67) and senior McKenzie Mahlmeister (2:39.90) competed in the 800 meter run where they finished 7th and 8th respectively.

Women Throws

In the hammer throw, freshman Sabrina Bailey earned 2nd with a throw of 39.00m and freshman Megan Lyons claimed 6th with a toss of 23.95m.

Bailey also came in 2nd in the shot put with an 11.77m heave.  Sophomore Dawn Freeland finished right behind Bailey at 3rd with an 11.20m throw, Lyons ended up 9th with a toss of 9.15m and freshman Rebecca Tracey placed 10th with a distance of 9.08m.

The track and field teams are back in action on Friday, March 25th and Saturday, March 26th as they travel to North Carolina State University to compete in the Raleigh Relays.
