Miami Duals Cut Short Due to Weather Conditions

The University of Findlay men and women track and field teams traveled to Oxford, Ohio to compete in the Miami Duals at Miami University.  Unfortunately, the meet was cut short due to inclement weather. 

Men's Results

In the 400 meter dash, freshman George Effah earned 1st place with a time of 50.13 and freshman George Bauer claimed 6th with a time of 52.01.

Freshman Jaye Williams placed 2nd in the 100 meter dash at the 10.70 mark and fellow freshman Zach Jellison finished 10th after crossing the finish line at 11.17. 

The 4x100 meter relay claimed 4th with a time of 43.08.

Sophomore Matias Trampe-Kindt earned 10th in the 3000 meter run with a time of 9:02.59.  Freshman Jonathan Allen (15th, 9:16.70), freshman Ty Gleason (16th, 9:19.34) and freshman Michael Taylor (20th, 9:33.66) also competed in the event.

In the 800 meter run, junior Sergi Torres placed 2nd with a time of 1:59.16 and freshman Troy Schultz claimed 6th at the 2:01.57 mark.

In the shot put, junior Ben Hahler (16.52m) met the NCAA provisional mark and claimed 2nd, senior Parker Schroeder (15.04m) earned 4th, freshman Austin Combs (14.85m) collected 5th, junior Mitch Adkins (14.62m) finished 6th, and freshman Jordan Brown (10.93m) came in 12th.

In the hammer throw, Combs (51.77m) finished 3rd, Adkins (51.02m) claimed 5th, Hahler (50.79m) earned 6th, and senior Garrett Gardner (45.53) placed 7th.

Women's Results

In the shot put, junior Alex DeVincentis (15.11m) met the NCAA provisional mark and earned 3rd, freshman Holly Averesch (13.55m) also provo'd and placed 6th, and junior Liz Streacker (12.72) finished 9th.

Junior Erica King (57.83m) met the NCAA provisional mark and claimed 1st in the hammer throw and DeVincentis (50.96) earned 9th, Streacker (48.99) placed 10th and Averesch (43.52) finished 15th.

In the 100 meter hurdles, senior Maud Sanmiquel met the NCAA provisional mark and earned 1st at the 13.37 mark and sophomore Milani Glass finished 6th at 14.63.

The 4x100 meter relay team finished first with a time of 47.42.

Multiple Oilers competed in the 3000 meter run.  Senior Meredith Hoops (10:50.69) finished 12th, sophomore Taylor Bolinger (10:58.68) claimed 14th, senior Erica Bettac (11:00.38) collected 15th, and senior Melanie Ruich (11:01.77) end up 16th.

In the 800 meter run, senior McKenzie Mahlmeister finished 21st with a time of 2:37.17 and sophomore Claire Crum placed 24th with a time of 2:43.39.

Senior Samantha Grippe earned 11th in the 1500 meter run after finishing at the 4:57.04 mark.

In the 100 meter dash, freshman Madison Stechshulte finished 2nd with a time of 12.08 and Symphony Cooke placed 3rd at the 12.22 mark.

Sophomore Laura Hernandez claimed 12th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.00.

The Oilers are back in action on Friday, April 8th and Saturday, April 9th in Athens, Ohio to compete in the All-Ohio Championship.
