Week 4 USTFCCCA Rankings

USTFCCCA Release

Findlay, OH – In week four of the USTFCCCA rankings, the University of Findlay men's and women's track and field teams have both cracked the top-25 for the second consecutive week.

Women

The Oilers are now ranked 12th in NCAA DII track and are still the number one team in the Midwest region. The Orange and Black are one of three teams from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) in the top 25. To date, the GLIAC has amassed more points than any other conference and is the number one ranked conference in the country.

Senior Lydia Guagenti's performance at the Raleigh Relays has been arguably the best performance by an Oilers female track athlete this season as she reach a height of 5'8.75", the second-best jump in the country this season and one inch shy of her personal best, which she set at last season's Polar Bear Invitational on April 18.

Sophomore Alex DeVincentis is another female who is in conversation for the best performance so far this season as she is in second in the nation with her shot put performance from the Wake Forest Open which took place on March 18. That heave measured 49'10.5". In the same event, junior Liz Streacker, also an indoor all-American, had a throw of 44'9.75" that earned her a spot as the 20th best throw in DII this season.

DeVincentis was not done after the shot put as her discus throw of 155'10" is good for number six in the nation this season.

Junior Erica King, who just earned GLIAC Female Field Athlete of the Week, performed incredibly in the Miami Duals on April 2 as her hammer throw distance of 189'9" is the third best in the nation this year and also set a personal best. Streacker also had another top performance as her hammer throw of 184'1" is eighth in the country this year.

Senior Maud Sanmiquel had a top performance in the 400 meter hurdle as her time of 1:01.67, set at the Raleigh Relays, is good for 12th in DII.

Men

Findlay's men have fallen to the 23rd spot in the rankings after being ranked 16th a week ago.

Leading the way for the Findlay men is senior Michael Bruce who had a spectacular performance in Raleigh on March 25. His best performance came in the triple jump where he reached a distance of 51'7.75" which is the best in the country in DII this season. His long jump performance was also noteworthy as he picked up the fifth best jump in the country with a distance of 24'6.25".

Also making an impact was the performance in the high jump by junior Trey Everett. Everett cleared a height of 6'8.75" which is now the seventh best in the country.

Sophomores George Effah and Sergi Torres competed in the 400 meter dash and picked up the 15th and 17th best times in DII this season with times of 47.66 and 47.75, respectively.

Another field athlete, junior Ben Hahler, has a top performance after the Miami Duals, which took place on April 2. Hahler took second in the shot put with a toss of 54'2.5", good for 13th in the country this season.

Findlay's next event is this Friday and Saturday, April 8-9, in Athens, Ohio where they will participate in the All-Ohio Championship Meet.
