DeVincentis and Sanmiquel Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

Findlay, OH – Despite competing in cold and snowy conditions, two University of Findlay athletes delivered at the All-Ohio Championships this past weekend and have been named as GLIAC Athletes of the Week. Senior Maud Sanmiquel earned women's track athlete of the week while sophomore Alex DeVincentis was named as the women's field athlete of the week.

Sanmiquel set a new personal best at the All-Ohio Championships this past weekend in the 100m hurdles. She finished with an NCAA provisional time of 14.11 seconds which ranks as the 15th best time in the country and is second in the GLIAC.

DeVincentis won the discus throw at the All-Ohio Championships, defeating multiple Division I athletes from the Mid-American Conference (MAC). Her throw that measured 162'4" is the best in the GLIAC this season, is good for third in the country, and is a personal record. DeVincentis also met an NCAA provisional in the shot put where she took third place with a throw of 47'1.5". Along with the provisionals, Findlay's sophomore thrower set a new personal record in the hammer throw with a distance of 169'9", good for fifth in the event.

The Oilers track and field teams will be back in action on Saturday, April 16 when they head to Hillsdale, Michigan for the 'Border Battle'.
