All-Ohio Performances Produce Jump in National Ranking

USTFCCCA Release

Findlay, OH – In week four of the USTFCCCA rankings, the University of Findlay women's track and field team jumped one spot, now sitting in 11th in the country after being 12th a week ago. Along with the national ranking, the Oilers women are also ranked second in the Midwest region after being first in last week's release. The men's team, last week ranked 23rd, have dropped out of the top-25 rankings for this week.

Senior Lydia Guagenti's performance at the Raleigh Relays is still the best performance by an Oilers female track athlete this season as she reach a height of 5'8.75", the second-best jump in the country this season and one inch shy of her personal best. Along with that jump, Guagenti vaulted into the top-20 in the country at the weekend's All-Ohio Championship with a score of 4,535 in the heptathlon. That score is 19th in the nation and is a provisional qualifying mark.

Sophomore Alex DeVincentis is another female who is in conversation for the best performance so far this season as she is in third in the nation with her shot put performance from the Wake Forest Open which took place on March 18. That heave measured 49'10.5". DeVincentis added to her stellar 2016 season with her performance in Athens this past weekend. In the discus, the Oilers' sophomore threw a distance of 162'4", the third-best throw in Division II this season and also a personal record.

Junior Erica King also turned in a great performance in Athens as her hammer throw distance of 191'4" is the third best in the nation this year and also set another personal best. It is the second time this year that King has upped her PR in this event. Not far behind, junior Liz Streacker had another top performance as her hammer throw of 189'4" is fourth in the country this year.

Senior Maud Sanmiquel still sits in the top-20 in the country in the 400 meter hurdle as her time of 1:01.67, set at the Raleigh Relays, is good for 14th in DII.
