Oilers Compete at Penn Relays and Ashland Open

The University of Findlay men and women's track and field teams continued to compete at the Penn Relays on Friday, April 29th.

Friday, April 29th Results

Men

The 4x200 meter relay team consisting of junior Sergi Torres, junior Derek Collins, freshman Zach Jellison, and freshman George Effah finished 33rd with a time of 1:31.93.

The 4x400 meter relay team featuring Torres, Collins, Jellison, and Effah claimed 27th at the 3:15.85 mark.

Men's Field

In the discus throw, junior Ben Hahler met the NCAA provisional and claimed 5th with a distance that measured 50.39m (165'3).  He also competed in the championship division of the shot put and earned 6th with a NCAA provisional throw of 17.41m (57'1.5).

Junior Trey Everett finished 6th and met the NCAA provisional mark in the high jump after clearing a height of 2.04m (6'8.25). 

In the championship division of the long jump, junior Alexander Zolotoglavyy placed 7th after covering a distance of 6.91m (22'8).

Women

The sprint medley team of freshman Madison Stechshulte, senior Maud Sanmiquel, sophomore Milani Glass, and senior Samantha Grippe earned 10th with a time of 4:04.35.

Women's Field

In the championship division of the discus throw, junior Alex DeVincentis placed 8th with a 44.66m (146'6) heave.

 

The University of Findlay track teams also sent athletes to Ashland for the Alumni Open.

Men's Field

In the hammer throw, junior Mitch Adkins (48.08m) and senior Garrett Gardner (46.55m) failed to reach the finals.

Women's Field

In the hammer throw, freshman Sabrina Bailey (39.79m) and freshman Megan Lyons (29.58m) failed to reach the finals.

The Oilers return to the track on Saturday, April 30th to compete on day two at the Ashland Alumni Open and day three of the Penn Relays.
