Four Oilers Earn All-American on Day 2

Bradenton, Fla. – The University of Findlay track and field team competed on Day 2 of the DII National Championship meet on Friday, May 27, and brought home multiple all-American awards on the day.

Senior Lydia Guagenti concluded her pentathlon career with an outstanding performance in the heptathlon. At event's end, she was just 60 points behind the winner and finished in third place with a new University of Findlay record, 5,368 points. That mark breaks the old record, set by Guagenti earlier this season, by more than 200 points. Her best finish came in the high jump where she recorded 928 points with a jump of 5'9.25". This was Guagenti's third appearance at the Outdoor National Championship and is the second time she has earned all-American status at the event.

Another top finish came from junior Alex DeVincentis who picked up the second all-American award of her career. She entered the discus throw ranked fifth in the country and finished the event on the podium with a fourth place finish. Her sixth and final throw was her best and it reached a distance of 165'7".

On the men's side, junior Trey Everett, competing for the first time at the DII National Championship after earning DIII all-American honors at Bluffton a year ago, took eighth place in the high jump. He reached a height of 6'10.25" on his second attempt to earn his spot on the podium.

Picking up second team all-American honors for the men was junior Ben Hahler who took 11th place in the discus throw. He earned that position on his third throw, a toss that measured 162'10". He entered the event ranked 20th in the nation but walks away with his second all-American honor of his career. It is the third time he has competed in the National Championship.
