Top-10 Individual Performances - #8 Michael Bruce

The 2015-16 athletic year was another successful season for the Oilers, who saw a plethora of individual athletes achieve outstanding accomplishments. The UF athletic media relations staff has put together a list of the top-10 individual performances from the 2015-16 campaign and will be revealing them during the month of June.

#8 (Michael Bruce, Men's Track)

Michael Bruce garnered a number of individual honors for the Oilers track team during the 2015-16 campaign and set school records in the triple jump during both the indoor (52'04.50) and outdoor seasons (52'05.25).

During the indoor season, Bruce won a GLIAC Championship in the triple jump and eventually went on to finish as the national runner-up in the event, taking home NCAA Division II All-American honors in the process. He was also named all-region in the both the triple jump and long jump during the season.

In the outdoor season, Bruce was tabbed the GLIAC Field Athlete of the Year and won a conference title in the triple jump. He was named All-American in both the triple jump and long jump and was tabbed all-region in both events as well. The Ghana native was also selected as the GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week twice during the outdoor season (March 30, May 3).

Bruce was also the Oilers Coca-Cola Award winner for men's track. The award goes to the student-athlete with the highest grade point average on each individual team.
