Gumbs Named Athlete of the Week

Findlay, OH – University of Findlay track junior Tynelle Gumbs has been named women's Field Athlete of the Week for the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

At the Tiffin Open, Gumbs, competing in her first event with the Oilers, took first place in the weight throw with a toss of 20.23m. That toss was an automati­­c qualifier for the NCAA National Championship, is the best throw in the GLIAC this year, and is the third best throw in the country. She also participated in the shot put, taking third place in the event with a throw if 13.13m.
