2017 Indoor T&F Nationals Come to a Close

Saturday, March 11 was the final day of the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor Track and Field Championships for The University of Findlay track and field teams in Birmingham, Alabama.

Junior Milani Glass claimed 6th and earned her first career All-American honor in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.58.

In the women's shot put, junior Alex DeVincentis picked up the 4th All-American award of her career with a throw of 15.26m (50'0.75") to earn 4th place.

Senior Ben Hahler competed in the men's shot put and earned 5th with a distance of 18.02m (59'1.5"). Hahler picked up his 2nd All-American award of his career with his performance.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team featuring sophomore George Effah, freshman Lenell Shelby III, senior Derek Collins and junior Sergi Torres finished 9th with a time of 3.14.84 to land second team All-American status.

As a team, the Findlay women placed 12th with a total of 20 points and the Findlay men finished in 21st with a total of 9 points.

The weekend was highlighted by junior Tynelle Gumbs winning the weight throw on Friday, March 9. Throughout competition, there were six Findlay athletes that picked up first team All-American honors and six Oilers who earned second team All-American honors.
