Findlay Competes in Hilltoppers Relay

The University of Findlay track and field teams traveled to Bowling Green, Ky. for the Hilltoppers Relay at Western Kentucky University on Saturday, April 8.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team featuring sophomore Khalil Capers, freshman Lenell Shelby III, sophomore Zach Jellison and sophomore Jaye Williams finished in 42.64 to take 7th. The women's team of junior Milani Glass, freshman Semoy Hemmings, freshman Jenna Shipman and sophomore Madison Stechshulte also placed 7th with a time of 48.41.

Glass and Hemmings also competed in the 200 meter dash and placed 8th (24.78) and 13th (25.20), respectively. Glass met the NCAA provisional mark with her time in the 200 and she also provo'd in the 100 meter hurdles and earned 3rd with a time of 13.90. With this time she is currently ranked 6th in Division II competition. In the men's 110 meter hurdles Shelby III claimed 5th at the 14.65 mark.

In the women's 400 meter dash Hemmings captured 2nd by clocking in at 56.00 and Shipman sported a time of 59.07 to finish 20th. On the men's side, junior George Effah took 5th in the 400 with a time of 48.90 and Jellison finished in 51.71 to place 13th.

In the men's 100 meter dash Williams placed 13th with a time of 10.85 and in the 200 he finished 16th at the 21.78 mark.

The Oilers track and field teams return to action for the All-Ohio Championships on Friday, April 14 and Saturday, April 15 in Cincinnati, Ohio.
