Oilers Complete Day Two of Penn Relays

The University of Findlay track and field teams sent athletes to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and the Ashland Alumni Open in Ashland, Ohio on Friday, April 28.

Penn Relays

Freshman Lenell Shelby III placed 14th in the 400 meter hurdle championships with a NCAA provisional time of 53.04.

In the women's 100 meter hurdles, junior Milani Glass collected 15th with a provisional time of 14.02.

In the pole vault senior Derek Spindler took 16th with a height of 4.55m.

The women's sprint medley championships team of Glass, sophomore Madison Stechshulte, freshman Semoy Hemmings and senior Nicole Burlinson claimed 22nd with a time of 4:06.34.

The men's 4x100 meter relay team featuring sophomore Khalil Capers, sophomore Jaye Williams, Shelby III, and junior George Effah clocked in at 42.47 to finish 38th.

The men's 4x400 meter relay team consisting of Effah, Shelby III, Williams and freshman Kurt Grieger claimed 24th with a time of 3:14.40.

In the men's shot put senior Ben Hahler met the NCAA provisional mark and earned 7th with a distance of 17.07m.  Sophomore Austin Combs also competed and placed 39th with a 14.17m toss.

Hahler also finished 19th in the discus throw with a distance of 47.80m.

Ashland Alumni Open

Senior Mitch Adkins competed in the hammer throw and recorded a throw of 46.72m, senior Garrett Gardner sported a distance of 45.29m, sophomore Matthew Baker had a heave of 33.33m and freshman Javian Martin had a toss of 29.33m.

Sophomore Sabrina Bailey competed in the women's hammer throw and had a distance of 41.40m.

Both meets with wrap up competition tomorrow, Saturday April 29.
