DeVincentis Earns GLIAC Athlete of the Week

GLIAC Release

Bay City, MI – The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its track and field Athletes of the Week and on the list is senior thrower Alex DeVincentis. It is the second time in her career that she has won GLIAC Athlete of the Week during the outdoor season. This also marks the sixth time this season, indoor and outdoor combined, that a Findlay female thrower has earned Athlete of the Week.

This past week at the extremely competitive Penn Relays, senior Alex DeVincentis, already ranked in the top eight in the country in the shot put, reached the automatic qualifying distance in the discus throw. DeVincentis had a toss that measured 50.14m (164'6") which was good for fourth place at the meet. That throw is the second-best in the GLIAC this season and places her in eighth in the country.

She also took part in the shot put and took 11th place with a provisional throw of 14.71m (48'3.25").
