Combs | Maag Honored by G-MAC

Findlay, Ohio – Three weeks after the conference meet was held, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) has announced the 2018 Great Midwest Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field Honors  for the season. Findlay was well represented on both the men's and women's side earning a combined eight first-team performers and three second team performers. First team athletes were those who won the conference championship in their event while second teamers were voted on by the coaches.

Head Coach Blaine Maag was also honored as the 2018 Men's Indoor Track and Field Coach of the Year as he led his squad to a G-MAC Championship in just the first year in the league. The men's team was led by Austin Combs, who was named the Field Athlete of the Year after winning both the weight throw and shot put at the conference meet.

Individually, Trey Everett was named first team all-conference in the long jump, high jump and triple jump. Austin Combs earned the honor in the weight throw and shot put and George Effah took home first team all-conference accolades in the 400m and 4x400m-relay. He was joined on the first team 4x400 squad by Daniel Agbola, Lenell Shelby III and Kurt Grieger.

The second team all-conference selections for the men were Martin Etsey (triple jump, long jump) and Dequan Lovell (shot put, weight throw).

On the women's side, Alex DeVincentis secured first team all-conference honors in the shot put and weight throw.

Holly Averesch earned second team all-league accolades in the shot put.
