Bio

Eric Wymer is in his fourth season as cross country head coach and sixth as a track and field assistant in 2023-24.

Wymer led the Oilers to a successful 2023 season. The women's team took fourth at the G-MAC Championship, their highest finish at a conference championship since 2007 and the highest G-MAC finish in program history. Wymer also led the men's squad to a sixth place finish at the G-MAC Championship with two athletes earning first team all-conference. Wymer then guided both Noah Fisher and Jordan Foster to the NCAA DII National Championships, the second consecutive year that Findlay has made an appearance at the event. 

During the 2021 season, Wymer led the the men to a sixth place finish at the G-MAC Championship. He guided Noah Fisher to the G-MAC Individual title, Conference Runner of the Year and the first conference champion in program history. Wymer also coached Fisher to a school record in the 8K at the Royals Challenge in Charlotte with a time of 23:45.9 and the 10K at the NCAA DII Midwest Regional with a time of 30:30. Wymer also led the women to a fifth place finish at the G-MAC Championship. He guided Gabrielle Lawrence to a school record in the 6K at the NCAA DII Midwest Regional with a time of 21:29. Wymer led both Fisher and Lawrence to the NCAA DII National Championships, Fisher was the first men's runner in program history to compete at the national championship in the DII era while Lawrence's appearance at the event marks the first time a women's runner had qualified since 2006.

In his time with the cross country program, Wymer has coached six all-conference athletes and two all-Midwest region selections. 

During the 2020 season, Wymer led both teams to a fifth place finish at the G-MAC Championship. The year before in 2019, Wymer guided the women to a fifth place finish and the men to a ninth place finish at the conference meet.

Prior to arriving at Findlay, Wymer spent two years as a graduate assistant at Malone University where he helped coach the men's and women's cross country teams to second and third place finishes, respectively, at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) meet in 2017.

Wymer graduated from Ohio Northern University in 2016 where he was a first team all-conference performer and helped lead the Polar Bears to a league championship in his senior season.
