Bio

Sara is entering her fifth season as a volunteer assistant for the Oilers’ track and field/cross-country programs. She comes to the University of Findlay from Malone University, where she was an accomplished athlete and a volunteer assistant coach.

While competing for Malone she recorded personal best times of 35:20 and 17:09 in the 10,000m and 5,000m respectively. She was also a multiple-time NCAA D2 National Qualifier in cross country as well as the 10,000m. Following her collegiate career, Sara tackled the marathon, as a result she qualified for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials with a time of 2:43:41.

In addition to her experiences as an athlete and a coach, Sara received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Walsh University in 2018 and currently works in the profession at Mercy Health Oregon and Sunforest Outpatient Clinics as a PT and running specialist. Her knowledge of correct biomechanics will aid in injury prevention and efficiency in the current and upcoming seasons.
