#8 Huskies Rock Oilers 75-43

The University of Findlay women's basketball team was defeated by #8 Michigan Technological University, 75-43 on Thursday, February 3 in Croy Gymnasium. The loss gives the Oilers a 14-5 record on the season with a 9-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers shot only 24.5 percent (12-of-49) from the floor and were out-rebounded 37-26 in the game. The Huskies meanwhile shot 56.4 percent (31-of-55) from the field and drilled 9-of-14 (64.3%) shots from behind the three point line.

Junior guard Laura Bardall and sophomore forward Kayla Brown led the team with ten points apiece.

The Huskies were led by Lisa Staehlin's 21 points.

Sam Hoyt recorded 18 points, nine assists and five rebounds while Lucy Dernovsek stuffed the stat sheet with six points, eight rebounds, seven assists, three steals and two blocks.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they host Northern Michigan University at 3 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
