Oilers Battle Back To Defeat Warriors 66-62

The University of Findlay women's basketball team battled back from a 17-point first half deficit to defeat Wayne State University by a score of 66-62 on Saturday, January 15 in Croy Gymnasium. The win gives the Oilers an 11-3 record on the season with a 7-1 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

As a team, the Oilers shot 47.3 percent (26-of-55) from the floor and drilled 7-of-19 (36.8%) shots from behind the three point line. They also dished out 19 assists and came away with ten steals in the victory.

Junior guard Laura Bardall led the way with a season-high 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting. She also added five rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.

Freshman guard Saira House tied her career-high with 13 points and also tallied a career-high seven assists to go along with five rebounds and two steals.

Sophomore forward Tai Dotson also tied her career-high with 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting. She also contributed five rebounds and steal in the win.

The Warriors were led by Phaebre Colbert's 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on January 20 when they travel to Hillsdale, Michigan to take on Hillsdale College at 8 pm.
