Oilers Claim 70-64 Win At Notre Dame

The University of Findlay women's basketball team scratched and clawed their way to a 70-64 win over Notre Dame College on Saturday, November 13 in South Euclid, Ohio for their first win of the 2010-11 campaign.

The Oilers found themselves down 30-29 at the break but came out in the second half and scorched the nets by hitting 69.6 percent (16-of-23) of their field goal attempts in the deciding period. They also benefited by connecting on four straight free throw attempts in the final 33 seconds to seal the win.

As a team, the Oilers shot 54.9 percent (28-of-51) from the floor to off-set their 25 turnovers.

Junior guard Clare Aubry led four Findlay players in double figures with 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Aubry also tallied eight rebounds and five assists in her debut for the Oilers.

Junior guard Laura Bardall also had a fantastic game for Findlay with 17 points, ten rebounds, two assists and a block while freshman forward Carlay Stahl stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, six rebounds and four blocks.

Sophomore forward Kayla Brown also reached double figures with ten points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Tuesday, November 16 when they host Cedarville University at 6:00 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
