Nelson Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Junior forward Kaitlyn Nelson of The University of Findlay women's basketball team was tabbed the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on Monday, January 10 for the first time in her career.

Nelson averaged 17.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.0 blocks and 2.0 steals per game during the Oilers two games last week to earn the honor.

In the Oilers 80-77, double overtime win against Ashland on January 5, Nelson reached career-highs in points (24), rebounds (17), blocks (7) and steals (4). She then followed with ten points in Findlay's 69-42 win at Wayne State on January 8.

She also shot 68.2 percent (15-of-22) from the floor in the two wins and is averaging 6.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game on the year.
