Eagles End Oilers Season

The University of Findlay women's basketball team was defeated 75-50 by Ashland University on Wednesday, March 2 in the opening round of the 2011 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament in Croy Gymnasium. The loss ends the Oilers season as they finish with a 17-10 record.

The Eagles shot 60.4 percent (29-of-48) from the floor and out-rebounded the Oilers 39-25. The Oilers meanwhile hit only 29.8 percent (17-of-57) of their shots, which included a 5-of-22 (22.7%) showing from the three point line.

Junior guard Clare Aubry scored 14 points to lead the team while junior guard Laura Bardall and sophomore guard Kendra Elam contributed nine and eight points, respectively.

Daiva Gerbec led the Eagles with 30 points and ten rebounds, hitting 10-of-12 shots from the floor.
