Oilers Hold Off Dragons For 59-53 Win

The University of Findlay women's basketball team held off a late rally to earn a 59-53 win over Tiffin University on Thursday, February 10 in Croy Gymnasium. The victory gives the Oilers a 15-6 record on the season with a 10-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers built a 29-17 advantage at the break and held an 18-point lead in the second half, but the Dragons scratched and clawed their way back into the game to come within five points at 56-51 with 25 seconds remaining. Findlay then made 3-of-4 shots from the free throw line down the stretch to secure the win.

As a team, Findlay shot 45.7 percent (21-of-46) from the floor and out-rebounded the Dragons by a 35-23 margin.

Sophomore forward Kayla Brown led the way with 18 points on 6-of-9 shooting while junior guard Laura Bardall recorded 16 points and ten rebounds.

Junior guard Clare Aubry also reached double figures, scoring 13 points in the win.

The Dragons were led by Mandy Jaeb's 17 points.

The Oilers will be back in action again on Saturday when they travel to Columbus, Ohio to face Ohio Dominican University at 3 pm.
