Oilers to Host Holiday Tournament
The University of Findlay women's basketball program will be hosting a Holiday Tournament on December 29-30 in Croy Gymnasium. Northwood University and Malone University will kick things off with a 3:30 p.m. contest on December 29 followed by the Oilers game against Missouri University of Science and Technology at 5:30 p.m. Missouri S&T and Northwood will then battle on December 30 at 1 p.m. followed by the Oilers and Pioneers at 3 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.

The Series
The Oilers have never met Missouri University of Science and Technology on the hardwood.
The Oilers do however hold a 16-0 advantage in the all-time series against Malone dating back to the 1991-92 campaign when Findlay came out on top by a score of 74-54.
The two programs last met during the 2002-03 campaign as Findlay won by a 79-73 margin.
Zsofia Horvath led the charge and recorded a double-double in the victory with 18 points and 13 rebounds.
The University of Findlay
The University of Findlay women's basketball team came away with a 72-66 win over Cedarville University on Monday, December 19 in Cedarville, Ohio.
Junior forward Kayla Brown continued her outstanding play with a season-high 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting. She finished 2-of-3 from the three point line and also added five steals and four rebounds in the victory.
Red-shirt freshman forward Carlay Stahl came off the bench to contribute a career-high 15 points, hitting 7-of-9 shots from the free throw line.
Sophomore guard Kaleigh Kenny chipped in eight points while senior guard Clare Aubry and red-shirt sophomore guard Ashley Andrews contributed seven points apiece.
As a team, the Oilers shot 46.8 percent (22-of-47) from the floor and held the Yellow Jackets to a mere 35.9 percent (23-of-64) shooting clip.
Cedarville pounded the Oilers on the boards, holding a 45-28 advantage, but the Oilers forced 24 turnovers and hit 23-of-29 (79.3%) of their shots from the free throw line.

Northwood University
The Timberwolves sport a 6-5 record on the season and have been led by Savannah Stedman's 16.0 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

The Lady Miners are currently 8-0 on the season and have been led by Hailee Parks, who is averaging 13.4 points and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Malone University
Malone has a 5-7 record thus far and have been led by Lauren Myers, who is averaging 16.2 points per game. Lindsy Snyder is also having a great season with averages of 13.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per contest.

Defense Wins Championships
The Oilers rank fifth in the GLIAC in points allowed, giving up only 59.8 to their opponents.
Defending the Basket
The Oilers rank third in the conference in blocked shots per game at 4.2 per contest.
Individually, senior forward Kaitlyn Nelson ranks fourth in the GLIAC with 2.3 blocked shots per game.
Automatic from the Line
Senior guard Clare Aubry is also amongst the league leaders with a 88.5 percent shooting clip from the charity stripe, the fourth best mark in the GLIAC.
Junior forward Kayla Brown checks in eighth as she is hitting 84.0 percent of her attempts from the free throw line.
As a team, the Oilers are hitting 73.3 percent from the line, the sixth best mark in the GLIAC.
Shooting a High Percentage
Junior forward Kayla Brown ranks seventh in the GLIAC in field goal shooting percentage, hitting 52.6 percent of her tries.
As a team, the Oilers rank sixth in the GLIAC with a 42.6 percent shooting clip.
Contesting Shots
The Oilers have made life difficult for opposing teams, holding them to a mere 37.7 percent shooting clip, which ranks seventh in the league.
Dropping Dimes
The Oilers are dishing out 14.6 assists per game on the year, the fourth best total in the league.
Individually, sophomore guard Saira House ranks fourth with 4.5 assists per contest.
Grand Theft
The Oilers are averaging 12.8 steals per game on the year, the second best total in the conference.
Individually, junior forward Kayla Brown leads the conference with 2.7 steals per game while sophomore guard Saira House ranks fourth with 2.5 steals per contest.
Putting Points on the Board
Junior forward Kayla Brown is leading the team and ranks tenth in the GLIAC with a 13.9 points per game average.
Teammate Clare Aubry also shows up amongst the league leaders and is ranked 20th with a 12.2 points per game average.
As a team, the Oilers rank fifth in the league with 67.8 points per game.
Swatting Shots
Senior forward Kaitlyn Nelson has been swatting shots at a record pace during her career and will have the opportunity to break the school record for most blocks this season.
Nelson has blocked 147 shots during her tenure with the program and is chasing Kelly Carder, who swatted 158 shots from 1996-99.
Instant Offense
Red-shirt freshman forward Carlay Stahl has provided instant offense off the bench this season for the Oilers and registered a career-high 15 points in the Oilers 72-66 win over Cedarville on December 19 in only 16 minutes of action.
GLIAC Preseason Poll
The Oilers were picked to finish second in the South Division of the GLIAC this season. They received 152 votes and ten first place votes, to fall just short of Ashland University (153) in the poll.
Preseason All-GLIAC
Senior guards Laura Bardall and Clare Aubry were both picked as preseason first team all-conference in voting conducted by the coaches within the league.
Bardall was a first team all-conference pick last season after averaging 14.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.
Aubry meanwhile was a second team all-league pick as a junior and averaged 15.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.
1,000 Point Club
Senior guard Laura Bardall ranks eighth all-time at Findlay with 1,262 career points.
Bardall was injured in the Oilers exhibition game against Bowling Green State University and will not have a chance to build on her total this year.
