Brown Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Junior forward Kayla Brown was tabbed the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on Tuesday, January 3 for the first time in her career.

The Riverdale High School graduate led the Oilers to a pair of wins at their Holiday Tournament on December 29-30 by averaging 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game.  She also connected on 42.9 percent (6-of-14) of her three point attempts and finished a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line. 

Brown tallied 13 points and five rebounds in the Oilers 65-53 win over previously unbeaten Missouri S&T on December 29 and then had 17 points and nine rebounds in a 74-49 win over Malone on December 30. 

On the season, Brown is averaging 14.1 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game.
