Oilers Fall 76-52 at #18 Ashland

The University of Findlay women's basketball team was defeated 76-52 by 18th ranked Ashland University on Thursday, January 5 in Ashland, Ohio.  The loss drops the Oilers record to 9-4 on the year with an even 3-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers trailed by only four points (36-32) at halftime, but the Eagles blew the game open in the second half by out-scoring Findlay 40-20.

Findlay shot only 31 percent (18-of-58) for the game while the Eagles hit 44.2 percent (27-of-61) of their shots and out-rebounded the Oilers by a 48-29 margin.

Senior guard Clare Aubry, sophomore guard Saira House and freshman forward Lacey Kessler each scored ten points to lead the Oilers.

Junior forward Kayla Brown chipped in eight points and four boards.

The Eagles received 23 points from Ashley Dorner while Kari Daugherty became the second player to put a triple-double on the Oilers this year as she had 12 points, 15 rebounds and 11 assists.

The Oilers will return home to face Wayne State University on Saturday at 1 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
