Oilers Bolt Past Chargers, Win 63-48

The University of Findlay women's basketball team claimed a 63-48 win over Hillsdale College on Thursday, January 19 in Croy Gymnasium.  The win gives the Oilers a 12-5 record on the season with a 6-4 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers bench provided a huge spark in the game as Findlay's reserves out-scored the Chargers reserves by a 38-16 margin.

As a team, the Oilers only shot 37.3 percent (22-of-59) from the floor, but held the Chargers to a mere 32.1 percent (18-of-56) shooting clip.

Freshman forward Lacey Kessler came off the bench to score a game-high 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting while junior forward Tai Dotson also came off the pine to contribute ten points and five rebounds.

Sophomore guard Saira House added nine points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals while junior forward Kayla Brown chipped in eight points, five rebounds and three steals in the win.

Chelsea Harrison led Hillsdale with 13 points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers will now prepare to play Lake Erie College on January 26 at 6 pm in Croy Gymnasium.
