The University of Findlay women's basketball team had trouble getting the ball in the basket against Northern Michigan University as they fell 59-49 to the Wildcats on Saturday, Dec. 8 in Marquette, Mich.
The Oilers shot only 27.5 percent (14-of-51) from the floor, hitting a mere 2-of-18 (11.1%) attempts from three point range. The Oilers did force 29 turnovers, but turned the ball over 23 times themselves as a number of players on the squad battled the stomach flu.
Sophomore forward Lacey Kessler led the Oilers with a season-high 13 points while senior forward Kayla Brown chipped in 12 points of her own.
Lauren Gruber led the Wildcats with 16 points as Northern Michigan connected on 8-of-17 (47.1%) shot attempts from behind the three point line.
The Oilers, who dropped to 5-1 on the season with a 3-1 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), will be back at home on Saturday, Dec. 15 to host Ferris State University at 3 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
