#1 Eagles Fly Past Oilers

The University of Findlay women's basketball team lost 72-41 to #1 Ashland University on Thursday, Jan. 17 in Ashland, Ohio.

The Oilers, who are now 11-4 on the season with an 8-3 record in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC), shot 26.7 percent (16-of-60) from the floor and hit only 4-of-23 (17.4%) attempts from behind the three point line.

The Eagles, who moved to 18-0 on the year, connected on 47.3 percent (26-of-55) of their field goal attempts and drained 12-of-27 (44.4%) three point attempts in the win.

The Oilers, who fell behind 20-0 in the first five minutes of the game, were led by senior forward Kayla Brown and freshman guard Alyssa Grevenkamp, who each scored eight points.

The Oilers will be back at it again on Saturday when they travel to Painesville, Ohio to take on Lake Erie College.  The GLIAC South Division contest is scheduled to tip at 3 p.m.
