Oilers Crush Lake Erie 75-37

The University of Findlay women's basketball team crushed Lake Erie College by a score of 75-37 on Saturday, Feb. 16 in Croy Gymnasium.  The victory gives the Oilers a 19-4 record on the season with a 16-3 mark in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play.

The Oilers, who have now won eight straight games, forced 32 turnovers and came away with 18 steals in the game.  They held a 40-19 advantage in points off of turnovers and registered a 42-12 advantage in scoring off the bench.

Findlay shot 42.9 percent (24-of-56) from the floor and out-rebounded the Storm by a 46-31 margin.  They also canned 20-of-27 (74.1%) shot attempts from the free throw line and held Lake Erie to a dismal 27.5 percent (14-of-51) shooting clip.

Freshman forward Margaret Wuebker led the team with a career-high 12 points on 3-of-4 shooting.  She also tallied six rebounds and connected on 6-of-8 attempts from the free throw line in the win.

Senior forward Kayla Brown also reached double figures with ten points while sophomore forward Lacey Kessler had nine points, three rebounds, two steals, two assists and one block in 13 minutes off the bench.

Freshman forward Kelsey Lewis contributed eight points and a career-high seven rebounds while sophomore guard Kristin Klausing scored a season-high eight points to go along with four rebounds and three steals.

Chrissy Delaney led the Storm with 11 points and nine boards.

The Oilers will now prepare to host Walsh University on Thursday, Feb. 21.  The tip is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start in Croy Gymnasium.
