Brown Named GLIAC Player of the Week

Senior forward Kayla Brown was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) South Division Player of the Week on March 4 for the second time this season for her efforts in the Oilers 73-61 win over Hillsdale on March 2 in Croy Gymnasium.

Brown scored a career-high 35 points in the win, hitting 12-of-18 shots from the field and 6-of-11 shots from behind the three point line.

The 35 points by Brown tied the third highest single game total in program history as former great Mianda Watts also put up 35 points in a 92-81 win over Oklahoma Christian on March 17, 2000.

The Mt. Blanchard, Ohio native did most of her damage in the first half as she opened the game with 16 straight points en route to 29 in the opening period.

Her six three pointers in the game were one triple shy of tying the school record for most made three pointers in a game.

Brown also earned the honor on Feb. 4.
