Oilers Ranked 20th in Final NCAA Division II Poll

The University of Findlay women's basketball team ends the 2012-13 season ranked 20th nationally as the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) released their final NCAA Division II poll on Tuesday, April 2.

The Oilers finished the year with a 24-6 record, their best mark at the NCAA Division II level.  One of their wins came against Ashland University, who ended the year as the top-ranked team in the nation after securing their first NCAA Division II National Championship.  The loss was the Eagles only loss of the year as they finished with a 37-1 mark.

Senior forward Kayla Brown was recently selected as the Oilers first NCAA Division II All-American, earning honorable mention accolades.  Brown helped lead the Oilers to the championship game of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Tournament, a first for the Oilers program.  The team also qualified for the NCAA Division II National Tournament for only the second time in school history.
