United Way Basketball Game

In Partnership with United Way of Hancock County, The University of Findlay basketball program is teaming up with the doctors of Findlay for a special basketball game.  "Hoop it Up" will take place on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 4 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.

The event will feature teams made up of six UF basketball alums and also a number of Findlay doctors.  Former head coaches Ron Niekamp and James Houdeshell will serve as the leaders of these teams.

The goal of this event is to raise money for the United Way, but it will be free with no admission fee. 

The current men and women's basketball players will also be introduced at halftime of the game.

The former UF basketball players taking part in this event are as follows:

Dustin Pfeifer

Pfeifer was a first team All-American in 2006 and was also the 2006 GLIAC Player of the Year.  He was a two-time first team all-region pick (2005, 2006) and was voted the 2003 GLIAC Freshman of the Year.  Pfeifer ranks tenth all-time at UF with 1,590 career points and holds school records for most assists (561) and steals (328).

Frank Phillips

Phillips was a first team All-American in 2007 and earned first team all-region honors during his senior season as well.  A two-time first team all-GLIAC pick in 2006 and 2007, Phillips ranks 13th all-time at UF with 1,521 career points.  He was also voted the GLIAC Tournament MVP twice, winning the award in 2004 and 2007.

Nathan Hyde

Hyde was a first team All-American in 2011 and earned first team all-region honors in 2010 and 2011.  The 2010 GLIAC Tournament MVP ranks 12th all-time at UF with 1,528 points and holds the school record for most made three pointers in a season with 95 during the 2009-10 campaign.

Marc Bishop

Bishop earned first team all-region honors three times during his career (1997, 1998, 1999) and was a third team All-American in 1997 and 1999.  He ranks ninth all-time at UF with 1,658 career points and holds the school record for most made three pointers in a career with 313.

Marcus Parker

Parker was a first team all-region pick in 2010 and was named first team all-GLIAC in 2009 and 2010.  The 2007 GLIAC Freshman of the Year was voted to the GLIAC all-tournament team all four seasons of his playing career and he ranks 14th all-time at UF with 1,490 career points.

Kyle Hunt

Hunt was a first team all-GLIAC pick in 2001 and 2002.  He received honorable mention All-American honors in 2000 and ranks fifth all-time at UF with 1,840 career points.

Tyson McGlaughlin

McGlaughlin was named first team all-GLIAC in 2005 and ranks third all-time at Findlay with 238 made three pointers.  He is also ranked 37th all-time at UF with 1,134 career points.

Dorian Bass

Bass was a first team all-GLIAC selection in 2007 and earned second team all-conference honors in 2006.  He ranks 40th all-time at UF with 1,025 career points.

Kayla Brown

Brown became the Oilers first NCAA Division II All-American last year when she earned the accolade in helping the women's basketball team to a 24-6 season.  She was voted first team all-region and first team all-conference as a senior and ranks eighth all-time at UF with 1,277 career points.

Aaron Robinson

Robinson was a second team all-GLIAC selection in 2013 and earned a spot on the GLIAC all-defensive team three times during his career (2011, 2012, 2013).  He ranks 39th all-time at UF with 1,029 career points.

Clare Aubry

Aubry was a second team all-GLIAC pick in 2011 and racked up 712 points in her two-year career with the Oilers.

Michael Agunga

Agunga was a valuable piece to the Oilers 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship team.  During his career, Agunga scored 214 points and grabbed 145 rebounds.
