Oilers Defeat Tiffin 69-66

The University of Findlay women's basketball team defeated Tiffin University 69-66 on Saturday, January 18 in Tiffin, Ohio.  The win gives the Oilers a 7-7 record on the season with a 4-6 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC). 

The Oilers forced 28 Dragon turnovers and came away with 14 steals in the game.  The turnovers led to Findlay having a 32-15 advantage in points off turnovers, which was the deciding factor in the game. 

Findlay shot 45.9 percent (28-of-61) from the floor while the Dragons connected on 40 percent (20-of-50) of their attempts.

Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker led the team with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks while freshman guard Karli Bonar contributed 11 points, eight assists and drained 3-of-7 three point attempts.

Junior guard Ciara Geiger had 11 points, seven rebounds, two assists and four steals in the victory. 

Junior guard Nikki Gunning contributed 12 points and two steals off the bench while junior guard Kristin Klausing dished out seven assists to go along with five points and two steals in the contest.

Jordan Fraley led the Dragons with 15 points while Katie Miller had 12 points and seven rebounds.

The Oilers will be back in action on Thursday when they face Ashland University at 6 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
