Panthers Topple Oilers

The University of Findlay women's basketball team suffered a 69-51 defeat at the hands of Ohio Dominican University on Thursday, Feb. 6 in Croy Gymnasium.

The Oilers, who fell to 9-11 on the year with a 6-10 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) with the loss, shot 36 percent (18-of-50) from the floor and hit only 4-of-24 (16.7%) shot attempts from behind the three point line. 

The Panthers meanwhile hit 42.9 percent (24-of-56) of their shots from the field and forced 21 Findlay turnovers in the game.

Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker led the Oilers with 19 points and seven rebounds.  She hit 8-of-12 shot attempts and also blocked two shots in the contest.

Junior guard Ciara Geiger also reached double figures with 17 points on 5-of-10 shooting.  Geiger made three of the Oilers four three pointers and also added three rebounds and two blocks.

Senior guard Karli Beasley did not score, but chipped in six rebounds, two assists and a block.

The Oilers will be back at home on Saturday to host Tiffin University at 1 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
