Cooper's Wish a Success

Cooper's Wish a Success

The University of Findlay and Tiffin University combined to sponsor a 7-year old child, Cooper, through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  Cooper and his family were on campus on Feb. 8 for the Oilers basketball games against the Dragons and the event was a success as $5,000 was raised.

Cooper has been diagnosed with meningitis and pilocytic astrocytoma, a condition with tumors of the central nervous system.  He is a big super hero fan and his wish is to go to Disney World.  Because of the hard work done by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at both Findlay and Tiffin, Cooper will be able to visit Disney World with his family.

While at the basketball games in Croy Gymnasium, Cooper received a bicycle from the UF women's basketball team.  He was also named the sixth starter for the UF men's basketball team, which allowed him to take part in player introductions.

Money was raised by selling "Cooperman" t-shirts on both campuses.  The Dragons sold white t-shirts with green lettering while the Oilers sold black t-shirts with orange lettering.
