Women's Basketball Closes Season at Hillsdale
The University of Findlay women's basketball team will close their regular season on Thursday, Feb. 27 against Hillsdale College. The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) contest is scheduled to tip at 6 p.m. in Hillsdale, Mich.

Series Information
The Oilers currently trail 19-17 in the all-time series against Hillsdale dating back to the 1985-86 campaign when Findlay came out on top by a score of 74-47.
The Chargers claimed a 66-61 win over the Oilers on Feb. 3 in Croy Gymnasium as they held Findlay to a 35 percent (21-of-60) shooting clip.
Ciara Geiger led the team with 13 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals while Margaret Wuebker turned in ten points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists.
Kelsey Lewis had a good game for Findlay off the bench with nine points and five boards while Nikki Gunning and Kaleigh Kenny recorded seven and six points, respectively.
The Chargers shot 48.9 percent (23-of-47) from the floor and were led by Megan Fogt's 18 points and 15 rebounds.
Findlay
The Oilers dropped a 74-67 decision to Malone University on Saturday, Feb. 22 in Croy Gymnasium.
The Oilers rallied from a 14-point deficit in the second half to cut the lead to three at 70-67 with 40 seconds remaining, but ran out of gas in the end.
Findlay shot 37.7 percent (23-of-61) from the floor and connected on 8-of-22 (36.4%) shot attempts from three point range in the game. They also came away with nine steals and held a 21-8 advantage in points off of turnovers.
The Pioneers meanwhile shot 47.4 percent (27-of-57) from the floor and held a 43-30 advantage on the boards.
Nikki Gunning led the Oilers with 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting.
Ciara Geiger scored 12 points while Karli Beasley had ten points and four rebounds in the game.
Margaret Wuebker contributed nine points and seven rebounds while fellow Kelsey Lewis chipped in six points and three boards.

Hillsdale
The Chargers are 12-13 on the season with an 11-10 record in GLIAC play. Megan Fogt leads the team and sports averages of 19.8 points, 16.0 rebounds, 2.7 blocks, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
Marissa DeMott is also averaging in double figures, scoring 12.5 points per contest.

Grand Theft
The Oilers are averaging 12.2 steals per game this season, the best mark in the GLIAC and the seventh highest total in the nation. They also are also ranked second in the league by forcing their opponent into 22.2 turnovers per contest.
Individually, senior guard Ashley Andrews is ranked fifth in the conference in steals per game with 1.9 per contest while freshman guard Karli Bonar and junior guard Ciara Geiger are tied for tenth with a 1.6 steals per game average.
Junior forward Lacey Kessler (1.4), senior guard Karli Beasley (1.3), junior guard Nikki Gunning (1.3), sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker (1.0) and junior guard Kristin Klausing (1.0) are also averaging at least one steal per contest for the Oilers this season.
Making Shots
Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker ranks eighth in the league in shooting percentage as she is connecting on 51.1 percent of her attempts from the field this season.
Balanced Scoring
The Oilers are averaging 70.6 points per game, the tenth best total in the GLIAC. They are doing so with a balanced scoring attack, which features nine players averaging 4.0 points per contest or more.
Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker leads the team with a scoring average of 12.8 points per game while junior guard Ciara Geiger is providing 10.2 points per contest.
Wuebker's scoring average is the 22nd best mark in the league.
Taking Care of the Ball
The Oilers are only turning the ball over 15.4 times per game, which is the seventh best mark in the GLIAC.
The Oilers also hold a +6.7 advantage in the turnover column, the best total in the league and the seventh best mark in the nation.
Raining 3's
The Oilers also connecting on 7.4 three pointers per game, which is the third highest mark in the conference.
Freshman guard Karli Bonar is connecting on 2.2 triple tries per game this year, which is the fourth highest total in the GLIAC.
Bonar set Ohio state records for most three pointers made in a season (110) and most made triples in a career (350) during her time at Shadyside High School.
In the Oilers 87-54 win over Northwestern Ohio on Nov. 30, the Oilers canned a season-high 15 three pointers and attempted a school record 42 triple tries.
Swatting Shots
Sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker ranks 15th in the GLIAC in blocked shots per game at 0.9 swats per contest. Teammate Kelsey Lewis, also a sophomore forward, is right behind her with 0.6 blocks per contest.
Passing the Rock
The Oilers are third in the conference in assists per game with 14.2 per contest. Junior guard Kristin Klausing is dishing out 2.6 assists per contest to lead the team while senior guard Ashley Andrews ranks second on the squad with 2.4 dimes per game.
Getting Buckets
Junior guard Ciara Geiger has proven she has the ability to fill up the basket. Geiger is in her first season with the Oilers after transferring from Urbana University, where she scored 995 points in her first two collegiate seasons. The Ft. Wayne, Ind. native has now racked up 1,246 career points in her collegiate career.
A Record-Setting Performance
Sophomore forward Kelsey Lewis tied a school record by going 8-of-8 from the field in the Oilers 81-59 win over Tiffin on Feb. 8. Lewis finished the game with a career-high 20 points and is now tied with Brittany Wells for the most made shots in a game without a miss. Wells went 8-of-8 from the field in a 76-55 win against Siena Heights on Nov. 29, 2005.
Reaching the 90-Point Plateau
The Oilers have scored 90 or more points 64 times since the 1978-79 season and sport a 63-1 (.984) record in those games. Their only loss came at the hands of Wilmington, who defeated the Oilers by a score of 110-98 in 1985.
GLIAC Tournament
The Oilers have appeared in the GLIAC Tournament five times in their history. They sport a 3-5 record in tournament play.
Winning GLIAC South Division Titles
The Oilers have won two out the last four GLIAC South Division titles (2009-10, 2010-11) and as a program, have captured championships in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2010 and 2011.
Preseason GLIAC Poll
The Oilers were picked to finish second in the South Division of the GLIAC this season according to the annual preseason poll, which was released on Nov. 7.
The Oilers received a total of 177 votes and ten first place votes in the poll. They fell one vote shy of the top spot in the division, which is held by Ashland University with 178 votes. The Eagles also received 13 first place votes and are the defending NCAA Division II National Champions.
Findlay finished the 2012-13 campaign with a 24-6 record. They were ranked 20th in the nation in the final poll and reached the NCAA Division II National Tournament for only the second time in school history.
Preseason All-GLIAC
Junior guard Ciara Geiger, a transfer from Urbana University, and sophomore forward Margaret Wuebker each were honored on the preseason all-conference squads. Geiger was voted first team all-conference while Wuebker earned a spot on the second team.
Geiger earned all-region honors last year for the Blue Knights after averaging 18.4 points per game. The Great Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year racked up a total of 995 points during her two years with Urbana and will be counted on to provide offensive firepower for the Oilers this season.
Wuebker made 26 starts for the Oilers last season as a true freshman, averaging 5.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game.
