Wildcats Top Oilers 66-59

The University of Findlay women's basketball team came up short against Northern Michigan University on Dec. 13, losing 66-59 in Marquette, Mich.  The loss gives the Oilers a 4-3 record on the season with a 1-3 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers, who held a 10-point lead in the second half, shot 40.7 percent (22-of-54) from the floor while the Wildcats converted 54.8 percent (23-of-42) of their shot attempts in the game. Findlay forced 21 turnovers and held a 14-2 advantage in points off the bench as well.

Junior forward Margaret Wuebker led the Oilers with 14 points and four rebounds while senior guard Kristin Klausing tied her career-high with 12 points. She also added five rebounds and a pair of assists too.

Senior guard Ciara Geiger also reached double figures with ten points on 5-of-13 shooting while senior guard Nikki Gunning and sophomore guard Karli Bonar had eight and five points, respectively, in the loss.

Alyssa Colla led the Wildcats with 20 points while Lauren Gruber and Bre Gaspervich each scored 16 points apiece.

The Oilers will return home and prepare to battle the University of Missouri-St. Louis in their next game on Dec. 20. The game is scheduled to tip at 1 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
