Women's Basketball Announces Signings

The University of Findlay women's basketball program and head coach Jim Wiedie announced their 2015 signing class on April 17. Dana Fricke, Anna Hintz, Christa Puthoff, Jenna Stegmaier, Allie Thobe and Lexie Seger will all be eligible to compete for the Oilers during the 2015-16 campaign.

Fricke, a 5'11 guard/forward from Pettisville High School, was tabbed as the District VII Division IV Player of the Year as a senior. She also earned Buckeye Border Conference Player of the Year honors and was voted second team all-Ohio. She averaged 14.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per game during her final season and ended her career with 1,067 points.

Hintz, a 6'2 forward from South Central High School, was named the District VI Division IV Player of the Year as a senior. A first team all-Ohio pick, Hintz was a two-time Firelands Conference Player of the Year and also earned Co-Player of the Year honors in the Northwest District. She averaged 21.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 4.5 steals, 3.9 assists and 2.6 blocks per game in her final season. She ended her career with 1,703 points and a school record 960 rebounds.

Puthoff, a 6'2 forward from Versailles High School, led her squad to the Ohio Division III state championship as a senior. She was named second team all-Ohio and was a three-time, first team all-Midwest Athletic Conference pick. She averaged 12.0 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game as a senior and wrapped her career with 827 points and 492 boards.

Stegmaier, a 5'10 guard from Cuyahoga Heights High School, was named the Ohio Division IV Player of the Year as a senior. She was a first team all-Ohio pick and was named the Chagrin Valley Conference Metro Division Player of the Year three times. As a senior she averaged 17.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.2 steals and 1.4 blocks per game. She ended her career with a school record 1,584 points to go along with 683 rebounds and a school record 362 assists.

Thobe, a 5'7 guard from Marion Local High School, was the District 8 Division IV Player of the Year as a senior. She was tabbed the Midwest Athletic Conference Player of the Year and was a third team all-Ohio pick. Thobe was also voted all-conference three times and first team all-district three times during her career. She posted averages of 17.2 points, 5.3 rebounds, 3.7 steals and 2.9 assists per game as a senior.

Seger, a 5'9 guard from Bellbrook High School, missed her senior season due to injury.

Fricke, Hintz, Stegmaier and Thobe were all selected to play in the Ohio Division III/IV All-Star Game on the North squad. The game is scheduled to be played at 12 p.m. on April 19 at Capital University.
