Oilers Win Another, 81-75 at Northwood

The University of Findlay women's basketball team improved to 2-0 in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) play with an 81-75 win over Northwood on Dec. 5 in Midland, Mich. The victory gives the Oilers a 5-1 record on the season.

The Oilers shot a season-high 54.9 percent (28-of-51) from the floor and splashed 6-of-11 (54.5%) tries from three point range. They also blocked a season-high nine shots and limited the Timberwolves to a 40.3 percent (27-of-67) shooting clip.

Sophomore guard Haley Horstman paced the Oilers with a career-high 22 points in the win. She hit 7-of-13 shot attempts from the field and also canned 8-of-10 tries from the charity stripe.

Junior guard Karli Bonar had 14 points and five rebounds, hitting 4-of-5 attempts from long range, while sophomore guard Kendyl Hinton produced a career-high 11 points in the game.

Senior forward Margaret Wuebker had ten points and five rebounds while senior forward Kelsey Lewis and freshman forward Anna Hintz had eight points apiece.

The Timberwolves were led by Jordyn Nurenberg's 17 points and ten rebounds.

The Oilers will return home to host Michigan Tech on Dec. 10 at 5:30 p.m. in Croy Gymnasium.
